Simple steps to your new heat pump
Initial feasibility call
One of our heat pump experts will discuss your project in depth and answer any questions you might have about heat pumps.
Survey, Design & Quote
We'll conduct a technical survey to assess your property, design your new heating system to MCS standard and then produce a detailed written quotation for your consideration.
Professional Installation
Our expert engineers will install your heat pump. On completion they will show you how to operate the system and we'll even help with your RHI application.
What is a Ground Source Heat Pump?
A Ground Source Heat Pump will use the energy stored in the ground to heat your home and provide hot water all year round. At a depth of approximately 1m, where the ground is at a constant temperature of 10°C or higher, or in a bore hole up to 150m deep, loops of piping are placed in the ground. The pipes contain a liquid refrigerant which absorbs the ground's heat and transfers it to the ground source heat pump located inside the house. The systems run very quietly.
Key benefits to you
- Efficient renewable energy solution
- Heat your home and hot water for less
- Works at temperatures as low as -25°C
- Works with underfloor heating or radiators
- Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) - More info below
What is the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)?
The Renewable Heat Incentive, or RHI, is a scheme set up by the UK government to encourage homeowners in England, Scotland and Wales to install renewable heating technology and reduce their carbon emissions.
It was launched in April 2014 and updated in July 2015 to fine-tune the eligibility criteria for heat pumps and biomass systems.
If you install an eligible system and then keep to the rules of the scheme, the government will pay you renewable energy incentives as a cash sum each quarter. The amount will be based on the amount of clean, green renewable heat produced by your system.
What are the tariffs?
The latest renewable energy incentives for each kind of heating is available on the Energy Saving Trust's website. The domestic rates differ between air and ground source pumps when you apply for RHI. Applications from April 2018 for air source heat pumps will receive 10.49p per kilowatt hour generated, while ground source heat pumps will earn 20.46p per kilowatt hour generated. These payments are made for the first seven years of use of your new equipment at quarterly intervals.
You can find out what you might earn by using the RHI calculator on the Department of Energy and Climate Change website here.
How much could a new heat pump cost you? It's less than you think.
